The Kuiper Belt is an area of the solar system that extends beyond Neptune, between 30 and 55 astronomical units (AU). 1 AU is equal to the distance between the Sun and Earth, or nearly 150 million kilometers. A remnant of the formation of the solar system, the Kuiper Belt is mainly composed of small frozen bodies such as ammonia, methane and water. But also of dwarf planets such as Makemake, Haumea or the regrehee Pluto.
